PELICULA

Héctor & Erika’s Silver Anniversary — 25 Years of Love in Winston-Salem, NC

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Héctor & Erika celebrated their silver anniversary: 25 years of marriage, of shared history, and of a love that’s as strong today as it was on day one. The celebration began at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC, surrounded by the friends and family who’ve walked alongside them all these years.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was rich with Catholic traditions, as you can see in the film. Afterward, we captured portraits of the couple with their family and friends in front of the altar. We filmed countless moments and took plenty of photos — including a beautiful group shot outside with everyone who came to share the day.

The Reception at Clemmons Civic Club

From there we headed to the reception in Clemmons, NC, at the Clemmons Civic Club, which had been decorated beautifully for the couple. The band Fuerza Norteña kicked off the celebration with classic songs that got everyone in high spirits. The party continued with the couple’s dance and a family waltz, where Héctor and Erika took turns dancing with loved ones.

Traditions & Celebration

Then Héctor took the mic and shared the sweet story of how he and Erika first met, earning warm applause from everyone in the room. The celebration rolled on with the classic La Víbora de la Mar (“The Sea Snake” — a lively Mexican wedding tradition): first the women circled the couple, aiming to topple Héctor from his “tower” — and they succeeded. Then the men took their turn, spinning the pair until the groom came down, and tossing him into the air until he nearly touched the ceiling.

The night carried on full of tradition and celebration, with Héctor and Erika at the heart of it all until almost midnight. It was an honor to capture every moment for them to treasure forever. We hope you enjoy these photos and videos as much as we enjoyed filming them.

A Celebration of Two Cultures

Guests came from across the world and from right down the street, coming together for a vibrant mix of Filipino tradition and good ol’ Southern warmth. That blend gave the whole day its own rhythm — two families, two cultures, one unforgettable celebration.

And the cake? Perhaps the most amazing wedding cake we’d ever laid eyes on — and trust us, we’ve seen our share of cakes. It was a showstopper.

Brant & Judith

At the heart of it all were Brant and Judith and their beautiful love story — the kind of couple who make a videographer’s job easy, because the joy is real and it’s everywhere you point the camera.

Thank you Daniel! You did a phenomenal job on the photos! I’m very impressed. Just viewed all the photos! It feels like I’m reliving the moment of the wedding again. You did an amazing job capturing every memorable moment. Thank you so much!

The Celebration at the Historic Brookstown Inn

The reception took place at the Historic Brookstown Inn, whose old-Winston charm made the perfect backdrop for the party. It was everything we love about wedding photography and videography — the sweetness and the subtleties, the quiet in-between moments that say the most. And, of course, the party afterward!

An autumn wedding in the Triad has a character all its own: the golden light, the cooler air, the seasonal color. Jon and Morgan’s day had all of it, and we felt lucky to be the ones capturing it.

From “Save the Date” to the Big Day

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — What a magical day with Melissa and Kai! At the beautiful Graylyn Estate in Winston-Salem, NC, we honestly felt like characters stepping into their dream.

Oh My Lord!!!! Some of the most gorgeous pictures that I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!
Melissa

We’d first met Melissa and Kai for a Save the Date photo shoot at their lovely home — where the dogs were very much part of the family — and got to hear all about their globe-trotting romance. The next chapter would be a wedding they wanted to be truly one to remember, and it absolutely was.

A Day to Remember

The gowns! The shoes! The jewelry! Every detail was dialed in. By the time the ceremony began, the whole room — Melissa and Kai, their friends and family, and us behind the cameras — was really feeling it. Honestly, we still are.

The End of the Long-Distance Chapter

We’d already worked with this amazing couple on their Love Story film, so it was especially meaningful to be there for the day that finally brought the “long-distance” part of their romance to an end. There’s something unforgettable about capturing a couple twice — once as they tell their story, and again as they begin their life together.

A Wedding of Many Cultures

As Danish, Indonesian, Dutch, Filipino, and American friends and family arrived at the Southern mansion, you could feel all those cultural influences coming together in one celebration. The day was full of beautiful touches — doves, sparklers, and heartfelt speeches that spoke every language of love. We felt truly privileged to be part of it.

Finding the Music in Post

Back home, as we started post-processing the video and photos, the song “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” kept haunting us — even though it was never played at the wedding. Digging around, we found a rare gem: a recent cover by singer Lizz Wright with a quiet sublimity to it. Paired with a second, more upbeat version, it gave us exactly the mood we wanted for their Highlights Film — and had us feeling the magic all over again.

‘THE TRULOVE’

The Pastor read a poem during the ceremony called ‘The Trulove’ and it goes like this:

There is a faith in loving fiercely
the one who is rightfully yours
especially if you have
waited years and especially
if part of you never believed
you could deserve this
loved and beckoning hand
held out to you this way.

I am thinking of faith now
and the testaments of loneliness
and what we feel we are
worthy of in this world…

…and how we are all
preparing for that
abrupt waking,
and that calling,
and that moment
we have to say yes,
except it will
not come so grandly
so Biblically
but more subtly
and intimately in the face
of the one you know
you have to love

so that when
we finally step out of the boat
toward them, we find
everything holds
us, and everything confirms
our courage, and if you wanted
to drown you could,
but you don’t
because finally
after all this struggle
and all these years
you don’t want to any more
you’ve simply had enough
of drowning
and you want to live and you
want to love and you will
walk across any territory
and any darkness
however fluid and however
dangerous to take the
one hand you know
belongs in yours.

A Sunny Outdoor Wedding at Walnut Lane — Near Greensboro, NC

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Audrey & Nick had a wonderful outdoor wedding at the Walnut Lane venue just outside Greensboro, NC — a day full of festivities, emotion, fun, and great food. Jon (my second photographer and cinematographer) and I had the honor of capturing it all through photos and film.

FEATURE

Their Story

Nick and Audrey had known each other for over five years, having met while Nick was working on a farm — and it wasn’t long before the two grew close. I’d met them both some months before the wedding, and you could see right away just how much these two belonged together. I could also already picture how great their photos would turn out, thanks to their relaxed personalities and easy chemistry.

A Perfect Day, Start to Finish

The ceremony and reception both took place outdoors, and the weather could not have cooperated better — sunshine all day long, right through into the evening festivities. I’m so glad they chose to have their day filmed, because photos alone can’t fully capture a day like this — and I love getting to tell a couple’s story through my films. Here’s theirs. Enjoy.
